DIFFA Dallas Body Art!!!

Last weekend was the DIFFA Dallas event which is:

One of the largest and most successful fundraising organizations aiding HIV/AIDS, DIFFA is a non-profit service provider with chapters in Dallas, New York City, Chicago, Kansas City, San Francisco and Seattle.

The Dallas chapter, formed in 1984, is the only HIV/AIDS organization in Texas that provides funding to local HIV/AIDS Service Organizations within our community. DIFFA/Dallas has granted more than $7 million to over 25 front line HIV/AIDS Service Organizations in North Texas providing direct care to those living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Highlighting the design community, DIFFA/Dallas hosts multiple events throughout the season including Burgers & Burgundy, DIFFA/Dallas Wreath Collection and House of DIFFA. Through your support and generosity, we are able to make a significant impact in our community.

Every 2 years or so they have an extire section devoted to some form of body painting, which makes for an awessome opportunity for those of us that enjoy that art form.  It is always an Epic show and an honor to be included in that event.  Thank you Candy Smith, Amy Walker and Vicki Long for an excellent day!!!

Body Con

Body Con 2016 was awesome.  Thanks to Guinnevere Courvoisier for putting this event together again for us in Texas even though she does live in this state anymore!!!  There was an excellent line up of instructors and vendors, which you can read more about on the Body Con Facebook Page.  I was asked to give two classes...Beginners Body Painting and Fast Scary Boy Faces, which I love doing.  Below are some samples of fun, hope to see you all there next year!!!!

Here Kitty Kitty!!!!!!

There are certain designs that I just love to paint I get asked for them quite often and one of my favorites are "Kitty Cat Faces".  I recently had the opoiortunity to  work with my neighbor and her cousins who all wanted the same design and challenged me with 3 different concepts.  Working within that frame it was truly fun to create with them, that type of situation always makes me stretch my talents!!!!  Whew!!!!!face painting, dallas, plano, keller, southlake, arlington, texas

Feathers, Feathers, Feathers

I love mixing things up.  Face painting is 2D but when we use textures and prosthetics we change that perspective and confuse the eyes by mixing the 2D with the 3D.  It makes for a powerful combination and somtimes striking effect.  I recently painted our family friend, Elizabeth, applying lots of textures and this was the result.   I know it can be fun to recreate certain designs but for me I like stretching myself whenever I can.
